Crime of the Week – September 12, 2015

The McComb Carry-Out / Ney Sunoco Station, McComb, Ohio was forced open on Saturday 9-12-15 and Monday 10-05-2015. In both incidents a large amount of cigarettes were stolen. Suspects appeared to be males in both incidents. Persons with information can contact Crime Stoppers and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Detective Barry Boutwell.

Crime of the Week – August 21, 2015

The Findlay/Hancock County Crime Stoppers, along with local law enforcement agencies, would like your help in solving this crime:

During the late evening and early morning hours on 8/14 and 8/15/15, over 30 vehicles had their tires cut in the 700 block of North Main St./North Cory St./George St. area. The suspect(s) approached parked cars and often flattened all four tires with a sharp instrument. A suspect description was not observed.

If you have information about this crime, or any other crime, and the information leads to an arrest or indictment, you will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Crime of the Week – May 4, 2015

Residential Burglary occurred on approximately Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 3287 CR 23, Washington Township, Hancock County. Suspect or suspects injured themselves during the forced entry due to a large amount of blood found at the scene. Crime of the Week – May 20, 2013

At approximately 3:00 AM on May 1st, 2013 a blue 2003 Freightliner Semi Tractor and box trailer were stolen from the Pilot Travel Center on SR 613 near Interstate 75, Van Buren, Ohio. The semi was parked near the diesel fuel island when it was taken. The attached white colored trailer which read “Arnold Bros Transport” contained a large amount of computer equipment. The semi-truck was found a short time later near Weston, Ohio in Wood County. The trailer nor its cargo have been located.

Crime of the Week – May 7, 2013

On Friday, May 3, 2013, Marco’s Pizza, S. Blanchard St. was broken in and money was stolen from the business. Damage was caused to the front glass door.

Crime of the Week – April 23, 2013

Hearthside Food Solutions received multiple anonymous bomb threats from a cell phone during the month of March, 2013 claiming a bomb was planted in the McComb Cookie Factory, 312 Rader Road, McComb, Ohio. Hearthside Food Solutions is offering a $10,000 reward that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this.

Crime of the Week – April 4, 2013

On March 23, 2013, a home in the 1900 block of Southshore Drive was burglarized. Taken from the home were cash, two gold necklaces, a silver lapel pin, medication, and an antique Baby Browning Kodak camera.

Crime of the Week – March 19, 2013

On 3/11/2013, a theft from a building in the 400 block of N. Main St. Findlay, Ohio was reported.  Stolen from this building were various car parts such as aluminum wheels, engine blocks, and brake parts.

Crime of the Week – February 26, 2013

On Tuesday, February 19, 2013 around noon, a two vehicle injury crash occurred at the intersection of State Route 68 and State Route 15 Eastbound ramp.  A semi-tractor trailer struck a vehicle and left the scene.  The driver of the vehicle that was struck suffered serious injuries.

Crime of the Week – February 07, 2013

On 2/5/2013, an employee of Wolfies Southside, 546 Sixth St, Findlay, reports a subject came to the cash register and displayed a firearm.  The subject was described as a male, 5’ 9” to 6’ 0”, 180 to 190 pounds, wearing dark clothing with a hood over his head.  The subject was also wearing a ski mask.  The subject took cash belonging to Wolfies and left the business.

Crime of the Week – January 03, 2013

The Findlay/Hancock County Crime Stoppers, along with local law enforcement agencies, would like your help in solving this crime: During the early morning hours of October 19, 2012 someone entered into a garage in the 2200 block of S. Main Street in Findlay and removed a purse from a vehicle. The purse was an Orange Shoulder Bag and contained several items including an engagement ring, credit cards and checks.

Crime of the Week – October 4, 2012

Between September 24 and October 1, someone entered an apartment in the 200 block of Lima Ave and stole two finisher nailers. One was a Bostitch brand air operated finish nailer. The other was a Paslode brand angle head co2 operated finish nailer.

Crime of the Week – August 2, 2012

On 7-26-2012 an unknown person left threatening messages in a bathroom at the Whirlpool factory on CR 220. Anyone with information regarding this incident please contact Crime Stoppers or the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Crime of the Week – June 28, 2012

Sometime between Friday 6-22-2012 and Monday 6-25-2012 unknown persons caused substantial damage to a sign at Oakwoods Park. The sign is located along a walking path in the prairie area of the park.

Crime of the Week – March 28, 2012

On March 24, 2012 at approximately 9:40am an unknown person entered the Crane’s Sleep Shop, 1922 Tiffin Ave, Findlay. The unknown male brandished a knife, demanded money from an employee and then fled on foot. The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall with a stocky build. The suspect had a tattoo on his right hand of an “eight ball.”

Crime of the Week – March 16, 2012

Sometime between March 5th, 2012 (9:00pm) and March 7th, 2012 (6:00pm) someone forcibly entered a residence located at 10348 TR 25, Arlington, Ohio. Once inside the residence, the suspect forced entry into a large gun safe by using various power tools. It is not certain at this time, but there is a possibility that firearms were stolen (two handguns and a .22 caliber rifle).

Crime of the Week – March 1, 2012

On February 7th 2012 around 2:45 am Curly’s Drive thru and Pizza located at 100 South Main St in Arlington, Ohio was forcibly entered and numerous items were taken including cigarettes and alcohol.

The suspect wore a hooded jacket and baggy pants. He was described as approximately 5’02” with unknown build due to wearing bulky clothing. He was observed leaving the scene on foot and might have walked with a limp.

Also, on the same morning an attempt was made to enter the Arlington Pharmacy, 106 N. Main St, Arlington, Ohio.

Crime of the Week – February 8, 2012

On January 6, 2012 at approximately 2:40 PM, a person was assaulted in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 1161 W. Trenton Avenue, Findlay. This person was described as a black male, 6’02”, 220 pounds. After the assault, this male and a short female, approximately 5’00”, left in a rust colored vehicle that was similar to a Toyota.

On January 6, 2012 at approximately 2:40 PM, a person was assaulted in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 1161 W. Trenton Avenue, Findlay. This person was described as a black male, 6’02”, 220 pounds. Crime of the Week – January 19, 2012

On January 12, 2012 between 3 AM to 3:30 AM, a person was walking in the 300 block of E. Hardin St. in Findlay. This person was confronted by two unknown white males, described as 25-35 years old, 5’10” to 6’00”, 150-180 pounds. These two males confronted the person and stole money from him.

Crime of the Week – December 20, 2011

On December 9, 2011 at 1:42 AM, Officers were sent to the parking lot of Studio 4, 1926 Tiffin Ave. A male had been assaulted by several black males in the parking lot. These black males had left in a red or maroon van. The victim was seriously injured.

Crime of the Week – November 1, 2011

Sometime during the evening of October 17, 2011 the offices of Findlay Green Apartments on Longmeadow Lane were burglarized. Forced entry was made to the office, where money was stolen.

Crime of the Week – September 12, 2011

On August 23, 2011 at approximately 04:00 a.m. a lawn tractor was stolen from Tractor Supply Company located on East US 224 in Findlay. The lawn tractor was a Cub Cadet model RZT 50. Also stolen during this time frame was a 6’ x 12’ landscape trailer from Menards in Findlay.

Crime of the Week – August 18, 2011

During the evening of Friday August 12, 2011 a break-in occurred at the BK Rootbeer Stand located on Lima Ave in Findlay. Forced entry was made to the business. Food, a computer and electronic notepad were stolen from the business.

Crime of the Week – July 12, 2011

During the early morning hours of Monday July 11, 2011 three burglaries occurred on the East side of Findlay. Something Special Learning Center, 655 Fox Run Rd; St. Michael’s Church, 750 Bright Rd; and First United Church of Christ, 2100 Greendale Ave, were all burglarized. Forced entry was made to each building. Money, checks, and computers were stolen during the burglaries.

Crime of the Week – June 20, 2011

Three instances of indecent exposure occurred in the area of Manor Hill Dr, Pebblestone Dr, and Silverstone Dr. between May 28 and May 31, 2011. All the incidents occurred during the late morning-early afternoon hours. A white male, driving a small black sports car, possibly a Volkswagen, approached woman who were outside and asked them for directions. The male then exposed himself to the victims.

Crime of the Week – May 19, 2011

Sometime overnight on Monday May 16, 2011 the First Baptist Church located at 1635 Fostoria Ave in Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the Church. Several rooms were ransacked. Among the items stolen are: Two laptop computers; video projector system; and microphones.

Crime of the Week – Apr. 19, 2011

Between April 8 and April 11, 2011 an office was burglarized at the Forest Edge subdivision in Rawson. The office was ransacked, cash was stolen, and gang graffiti was written on the walls.

Crime of the Week – Mar. 22, 2011

On Thursday March 3rd at approximately 9 p.m. a 49 year old Findlay man was robbed while walking in the 300 block of E. Sandusky St in Findlay. The victim was approached from behind by a lone suspect. The suspect indicated he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene on foot after obtaining cash from the victim. The suspect was described as 5-10 to 5-11 tall, no further description. The victim was not injured.

Crime of the Week – Jan. 25, 2011

On Sunday January 16, 2011 Glenwood Middle School located on N. Main St in Findlay was burglarized. Forced entry was made to several offices, classrooms, and the library. Cash, a camcorder and two cameras were stolen.

Crime of the Week – Jan. 5, 2011

Sometime during the evening of Wednesday December 29, 2010 a storage shed was forcibly entered in the 400 block of Center St in Findlay. Numerous items were stolen from the shed:

Sears Craftsman 24″ snow blower, red in color. Also missing were three bicycles. The first bicycle was described as a red men’s Next Power X mountain bicycle. The second was described as a blue women’s Next Power X mountain bicycle and the last a red youth unknown make/model BMX style bicycle. Other miscellaneous tools and hunting supplies were stolen as well.

Crime of the Week – Dec. 10, 2010

A burglary occurred at the Cash Advance business, located at 1410 N. Main St in Findlay. This break-in occurred between December 6th and 7th. Forced entry was made to the business. A safe was stolen during the burglary.

Crime of the Week – Oct. 29, 2010

During the past several weeks, numerous vehicles have been vandalized throughout Findlay. On October 7th, 9 cars were vandalized in the Bernard Park area with paint and paint thinner. On October 9th, 21 cars were vandalized in the Bernard Park area with paint. On October 24th, 51 cars were vandalized throughout Findlay by paint. Areas that were hit included the Bernard Park area, Center St, Morse St, South St, George St, and Midland Ave. In most cases it appears the vandals are driving down these roads and a passenger is spray painting cars parked along the street as they drive by the car.

Crime of the Week – Oct. 19, 2010 – Updated

On Sunday morning October 3, 2010 at approximately 02:20 a.m. Nan Wilson was struck by a hit-skip vehicle as she was walking in the 300 block of Center St in Findlay. She died as a result of this accident. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2006 – 2007 Jeep Liberty, with bright silver metallic trim. The vehicle color itself is unknown. The vehicle would have front end damage.

On Sunday morning October 3, 2010 at approximately 02:20 a.m. Nan Wilson was struck by a hit-skip vehicle as she was walking in the 300 block of Center St in Findlay. She died as a result of this accident. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2005 – 2007 Jeep Liberty, bright silver metallic in color. The vehicle would have front end damage.

Crime of the Week – Sept. 10, 2010

At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday September 7, 2010, a man was assaulted and robbed in the 300 block of George St in Findlay. As the victim approached his parked vehicle, he was approached by two suspects. The suspects beat the man and stole his Adidas black and red tennis shoes. The suspects then fled the scene on foot. The suspects are described as black males, in the early 20’s, wearing dark clothing. The victim was treated at the hospital for his injuries.

Crime of the Week – Aug 11, 2010

Between July 22 and July 23, 2010, a residence on TR 236 in Cass Twp, Hancock County was burglarized. Forced entry was made to the residence. Numerous firearms, ammunition and jewelry were stolen during this burglary.

Crime of the Week – Aug 2, 2010 – Captured

Ruben J. Sanchez Jr. has been indicted by a Hancock County Grand Jury for discharging a firearm into a habitation, a second degree felony. There currently is a warrant out for his arrest. He is described as a Hispanic male, 18 years old, 5’-10” , 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. A recent mugshot is below:

Crime of the Week – July 2, 2010

On June 25, 2010 the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence on TR 97 outside the Village of McComb. Suspect(s) had entered the home, robbed the resident, and left the resident bound. Various items including the victim’s car were stolen. The car was later recovered nearby.

Crime of the Week – June 22, 2010

Between June 10th and June 15th, 2010 a residence in the 800 block of Howard St was burglarized. It is unknown how entry was made to the house. Items stolen during this burglary include a royal blue Fender Stratocaster electric guitar; Microsoft X-Box with 2 controllers; Nintendo Wii with 2 controllers; Microsoft X-Box games/ Rock Band, Guitar Hero 1&2, Dragon Ball Z, Harry Potter and some misc others; Nintendo Wii games/ Super Mario Bros., Wii Sports and some misc others; 10-15 DVD’s including Twilight, New Moon and the 70’s Show series; Diamond bracelet; Misc college books; Blender; Hair Straighter; I home for an Ipod; 2 Verizon Glide cell phones; 2007 silver class ring; 7 piece luggage set; HP printer; and a Sony Playstation.

Crime of the Week – May 21, 2010

On Tuesday 04/27/2010 at 11:19 p.m. a 15 year old girl was walking in the 100 block of E. Wallace St. when she was grabbed by an unknown male. The girl began to scream and fight with the suspect, striking him several times. While she struggled with her attacker, a passing motorist drove by and yelled at the male attacker. The attacker then fled northbound on foot. The victim sustained only minor bruising during the incident.

The suspect was described as 6’0” tall with a medium / muscular build. He was wearing a black coat, black pants and dark green gloves. The suspect had a hood pulled up over his head and the victim was unable to see her assailant’s face.

Investigators are seeking the identity of the suspect and the passing motorist.

Crime of the Week – May 6, 2010

Between Sunday 04/18/2010 and Thursday 04/22/2010, cameras and accessories were taken from the Rieck’s Center (a local wildlife research area) located at 17311 TR 166, Arlington Ohio. The cameras are “Stealth Cam Sniper Pro” cameras. The accessories include a mounting “stick”, a Vanguard tripod, memory cards and straps. The cameras were positioned along the trails when they were taken.

Crime of the Week – April 7, 2010

On Saturday 04/03/2010 at approximately 11:30 p.m. The Findlay Police Department investigated an armed Robbery at Subway Restaurant located at 753 W. Trenton Ave. The suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the employee. The employee complied and the suspect fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’05” tall and stocky build. He was wearing a black unzipped sweatshirt, black tee shirt and stocking cap with a bill. His face was partially obscured with sunglasses and a bandana around his mouth.

Crime of the Week – March 19, 2010

On 03/14/2010 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a break-in at The Liberty Convenience store, located at 607 S. Main St. in Mt. Blanchard, Ohio. Entry was made to the business after the suspects broke a window. Once inside, several packs of cigarettes were taken. The suspects fled. The investigation revealed that at least two male suspects were involved in the incident. One of the subjects was wearing a black hooded coat, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The other male’s description was not provided.
